Dartz Aims to Manufacture Its Wild Trucks in the United States

In addition to the Black Stallion, Dartz plans to introduce the Iron Diamond CLV, which is based on the Lamborghini Urus, to the US market.

  • The Latvian firm has secured deals with dealerships on the East and West Coasts.
  • Production will likely be handled by a complex in Florida.
  • Dartz is accepting US orders for the Prombron Black Stallion Type C.

Dartz is one of the weirdest coachbuilders on the planet, and it seems the Latvian brand has its sights set on conquering perhaps the most important car market of them all: the United States. To help celebrate its impending local launch, Dartz has shipped over a Prombron Black Stallion Type C from Riga and driven it through the streets of Los Angeles – precisely the type of place you’d expect to see a Dartz.

Reports indicate that the small company has secured agreements with multiple dealerships on both the East and West Coasts to market the Black Stallion Type C. At first, the vehicles will be imported from Latvia to the United States, but the firm is reportedly working on plans to manufacture them locally in Florida.

This will be an important step in opening up the brand to a new market. It could also help Dartz to avoid any pesky tariffs that Donald Trump could enact when he returns to the Oval Office.

In the meantime, order books for the Prombron Black Stallion Type C have been opened in the US. Local prices haven’t been publicized, but something in the region of $500,000 seems likely. That’s a lot of money, particularly when you consider the SUV isn’t built from the ground up and is either based on the chassis of a Hummer H2 or a Mercedes-Benz GLS, depending on what the customer prefers.

The Black Stallion isn't the only vehicle making its way to the US. Dartz has begun accepting pre-orders for the Prombron Iron Diamond CLV, which is derived from the Lamborghini Urus. This high-performance off-roader has been under development for a considerable period and will feature the original 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine from the base model. Prospective buyers should be prepared to invest an astonishing $2.7 million.
