The S2AP may not revolutionize the field, but it certainly offers an additional choice.

LiveWire has officially unveiled its newest addition, the Alpinista, to its S2 lineup, which already includes the Del Mar street tracker and the Mulholland cruiser. The company characterizes the S2 Alpinista as a “sport standard,” merging features from both the S2DM and S2MH models, and it comes fitted with 17-inch wheels.
In terms of design, the Alpinista features the bodywork of the Del Mar, combined with the headlight assembly from the Mulholland. While the handlebar and the under-mounted bar-end mirrors resemble those found on the Mulholland, the grips on the Alpinista are set lower and more towards the front, promoting a more aggressive riding stance.

While the parts bin method of bike design may not excite everyone, it aligns well with LiveWire's current business strategy, allowing the company to broaden its product range without incurring significant additional costs.

The Alpinista stands out from its counterparts primarily due to its 17-inch wheels, which not only enhance tire options for riders thanks to the standard wheel size but also promise improved handling that leans more towards street bike performance. In contrast, the Del Mar features 19-inch wheels that pay homage to its flat track origins, while the Mulholland combines a 19-inch front wheel with a 17-inch rear wheel. According to LiveWire, the Alpinista can achieve a lean angle of 52.1 degrees to the left and 44.2 degrees to the right. Additionally, the choice of wheel sizes contributes to a lower seat height of 31.2 inches, compared to the Del Mar's 32.7 inches and the Mulholland's 31.8 inches. The Alpinista is equipped with Dunlop Roadsmart IV tires as standard.

The suspension setup resembles that of the Del Mar, featuring a fully-adjustable Showa 43mm inverted cartridge fork at the front and a Showa Free Piston shock at the rear, which boasts progressive linkage along with adjustable preload and rebound damping. Both ends offer a suspension travel of 4.73 inches.
Brembo provides a front caliper featuring a monoblock design with four pistons, known as the M4.32, along with a single-piston rear caliper identified as the PF34.
The Apinista, built on the S2 Arrow architecture shared with the Del Mar and Mulholland, boasts comparable performance stats, with an output of 84 hp and 194 lb-ft of torque. LiveWire asserts that the bike can reach a maximum speed of 99 mph and accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.0 seconds.

A six-axis IMU enables advanced lean-sensitive anti-lock braking and traction control systems. The Alpinista features four predefined riding modes: Sport, Road, Range, and Rain, alongside two modes that users can customize. Each mode influences the motorcycle's throttle response, power output, regenerative braking, ABS, and traction control configurations.
The Alpinista features a 10.5 kWh battery, with LiveWire stating it can achieve a range of 120 miles in urban settings and 71 miles on highways. Similar to other S2 variants, the Alpinista is compatible with Level 1 and Level 2 charging options, but for Level 3 charging, users will need to wait for a full platform update. According to LiveWire, the battery can be charged from 20% to 80% in 5.9 hours using a Level 1 charger and in just 78 minutes when utilizing a Level 2 charger.
