Stock Up, Texas! 15 Frito Lay Snacks Are Vanishing from Store Shelves

Texans love Frito Lay, as they are "one of our own." The 13 billion-dollar company is headquartered in Plano.

Frito Lay is at the forefront of innovative snacks that we love, featuring bold spicy and global flavors (I just can't resist Salsa Verde Doritos!).

Frito Lay makes the most popular chips in the snack aisle- including Lay's, Cheetos, Doritos, Fritos (of course), Tostitos, Sun Chips, Santitas, Smart Food popcorn, and Rold Gold pretzels.  And each "brand" carries from a few to many flavors/ varieties.

However, with innovation comes the need to adjust. Frito Lay has announced they are discontinuing 15 varieties of their snacks, according to Sporked.

When Will These Products Be Phased Out?

Sporked is suggesting that the items might vanish as early as this month. However, this will vary based on the sales performance at different stores, so if there's something you particularly love, it might be wise to stock up sooner rather than later.

What Alternatives Will Take the Place of These Items?

That's an intriguing question! Sporked asserts they have the answers, so keep an eye out for updates.

If that answer is unsatisfactory to you, Toast.com has some ideas about snack trends we could see in 2025.

This encompasses "healthy" options such as plant-based foods, vegetable-rich dishes, protein-rich choices, alternative grains, and more. The definition of healthy, naturally, varies from person to person.

Toast also ponders a revival of nostalgic tastes—do you recall the days when you could find almost any snack in a "pizza" flavor? I certainly do.

There could also be a continued push into international flavors and sweet/savory flavor combinations. Last year there was a limited tzatziki flavor that absolutely was worthy of full-time shelf status. But I am a Texan, and we like anything dill-flavored.

Which varieties are set to make their mark in history? Here’s the compilation:

15 Snack Chips That Will Be Discontinued in 2025

Frito-Lay produces some of the most beloved snacks in the United States, and each year, they unveil innovative variations on their best-selling products that showcase distinctive flavors.

Exploring beyond your usual preferences can be an exciting experience, and you might discover some new favorites along the way. Nevertheless, it's important to keep in mind that not all new snacks will last, which can lead to some disappointment.

Sporked recently uncovered 15 snacks that Frito-Lay plans on discontinuing in 2025, and they include some of my favorites. If some of your favorites are on this list, you better stock up if you still see them on store shelves and enjoy them while you can.

Maybe if snack enthusiasts rally against the discontinuation, Frito-Lay will reconsider their decision.
