Walmart has refreshed its logo for the first time in two decades.

Walmart has unveiled a new logo for the first time in two decades, leaving shoppers in complete shock.

The retailer characterizes the revamped appearance as “a thorough brand overhaul that signifies its growth,” yet numerous individuals disagree.

According to the company, one of the key features of the “refresh” includes a word mark “inspired by [founder] Sam Walton’s classic trucker hat” with a modern, custom font. The color palette, True Blue and Spark Yellow, was updated to “keep the brand fresh.”

Nevertheless, many people failed to notice any distinction between the previous and the updated appearances.

“Walmart just unveiled their new logo. It looks the f–king same,” one person raged on X.

“I can’t believe someone got paid for this,” another stunned pundit proclaimed.

“I hope people will still be able to recognize that’s Walmart,” a third person sarcastically quipped.

“I guess they said they spent $2.1 million to change the shade of blue,” a user lamented.

Nevertheless, some individuals argued that the heated discussions on social media serve as evidence that the rebranding was successful in achieving the retailer's objectives.

“Everyone is talking about it, and they won’t need to spend millions to change physical branding because the old logo looks like the sun-damaged version of the new one,” one wrote. “Genius.”

Walmart is set to launch its brand refresh across various platforms and channels starting in January. The company indicated that the rollout in physical stores commenced in October 2024, with plans for ongoing redesigns in the remaining locations over time.
