After half a century of operation, a manufacturing facility has officially announced its closure.

PARAGOULD, Ark. (KAIT) - An established manufacturing facility has informed its workforce that it will be shutting down shortly.

Tenneco informed employees during a meeting on Tuesday, January 14, held at the Greene County Fairgrounds, about the decision to shut down the Paragould facility.

In a statement to K8 News, Tenneco announced, “After careful consideration, we have decided to cease our manufacturing operations in Paragould, Arkansas.”

An employee shared a schedule with K8 News detailing when individuals would be laid off.

The initial round of layoffs is planned for approximately March 31, followed by a second round around April 15, and the third round is expected around April 30. Please note that these dates may be adjusted within a 14-day window after the specified dates.

As stated by the Paragould Regional Chamber of Commerce, this facility is a segment of DRiv Motorpart’s aftermarket division, which specializes in the production of shocks, struts, and modular strut assemblies.

The facility commenced operations in 1970, and by 2022, the Paragould Regional Chamber of Commerce reported that it employed more than 1,100 workers.
