The New CIO of DXC Technology Plans to 'Integrate AI into Every Function and Workflow'

This month, DXC Technology, a global tech services provider valued at $14 billion, announced the appointment of Brad Novak as its new Chief Information Officer. Novak's primary objective is to integrate artificial intelligence throughout the company's infrastructure and operational processes.

"Technology is at the core of what we do, and we must excel in it," he stated. "The focus isn't on cutting costs, but on how we can provide the highest quality."

Novak, who formerly served as the CTO for Barclays' corporate and investment banking division, will assist DXC in identifying the areas where AI can provide the greatest benefits and ensure that the necessary groundwork is established. This involves enhancing the company's data strategy and knowledge management systems, refining software development practices to integrate AI, and equipping teams throughout the organization with the skills required to leverage cutting-edge technology effectively.

“He emphasized the importance of execution and guiding the organization through this process. 'We must choose our battles wisely, determine where we can achieve results, and do so swiftly,' he stated. Initial areas being considered for more extensive AI integration are sales and service management.”

Collaborations will be crucial as DXC frequently partners with technology vendors to promote their offerings, acting as the initial user for new products and services. For instance, in November, DXC revealed the establishment of a Center of Excellence in collaboration with ServiceNow, aimed at integrating the generative AI strengths and implementation expertise of both companies to facilitate smoother AI adoption for their clients.

"Novak mentioned, 'We are considering not only what we create for our own needs but also how we can leverage the AI revolution that the hyperscalers and leading SaaS providers are delivering to us.'"

Novak reports directly to James Walker, the Chief Administrative Officer.
