A new leak suggests that the Galaxy S25 will once again include an S Pen but will not have Bluetooth compatibility. The decision could be a cost-cutting measure, but it surely won’t be received well by some.

Essentially, the S Pen serves as a stylus, enabling users to effortlessly write on their screens. However, it goes beyond mere writing, as it includes various functions that leverage Bluetooth technology. For instance, pressing a side button on the S Pen can initiate specific actions, such as launching a preferred app, functioning as a camera shutter, managing music playback, and even automating formatting in the Samsung Notes application. Users have the flexibility to select the tasks they wish to assign, making it an invaluable tool for many.

According to a leak from Ishan Agarwal on Twitter/X, the S Pen on the Galaxy S25 will not have Bluetooth. That likely means the smart stylus will also lack buttons. This could be a cost-cutting measure or a way to save some battery life for the device since an S Pen does need a charge if it utilizes a Bluetooth signal. Without Bluetooth, the stylus can simply be used with no battery inside.

For dedicated users who have enjoyed customizing their S Pen functions since the Galaxy Note 9, this change may seem like a significant setback. However, newcomers might not feel the absence of this feature as keenly. Additionally, there are some Galaxy S Ultra users who may never actually utilize the stylus from its compartment. Regardless, it still feels like a disappointing blow.
